60,000 Chinese tourists visit Iran each year

Around 60,000 Chinese tourists travel to Iran annually, according to the Chinese ambassador to Tehran, Cong Peiwu, who emphasised the growing depth of cultural, scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries. This is reported by
Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

The ambassador highlighted education and research as central pillars of bilateral collaboration. He pointed to academic exchanges involving professors and students, joint initiatives in artificial intelligence, and support for knowledge-driven projects as key areas for advancing cooperation.

He noted that the embassy is working to simplify visa procedures for both students and tourists in order to strengthen people-to-people ties and widen opportunities for joint development.

Language education was also underscored as a tool for deeper engagement, with programmes in Persian studies expanding in China and Chinese language courses offered at Iranian universities. Such initiatives, the ambassador said, are helping to reinforce mutual understanding and long-term partnership.
