Participants engaged in a variety of activities across different cities
Foreign journalists and content creators from eight countries, including Russia, Turkey, and Vietnam, gathered in Guizhou province for the 2024 China Storyteller Partnerships event. The programme aimed to showcase the beauty and cultural heritage of Guizhou, located in Southwest China. This is reported by
China Daily, partner of TV BRICS.
Participants engaged in a variety of activities across different cities, such as rafting, rock climbing, and kayaking. They also attended the International Conference of Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports 2024, gaining insight into the region’s vibrant outdoor tourism sector. Additionally, the group had the chance to experience Bouyei culture, learning about traditional customs through dance and local activities.
In Xingyi city, part of the Qianxinan Buyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, foreign media guests were warmly welcomed by the Bouyei people, who offered fragrant rice wine and showcased their cultural traditions. The visitors participated in bamboo pole dancing, tie-dying, and the preparation of traditional zongzi (sticky rice dumplings).
The event also included a visit to the Suntree Tea Plantation in Guiyang City. Known for its traditional ecological farming methods, plantation prohibits the use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides, ensuring an environmentally friendly approach.
Through the China Storyteller Partnerships, international journalists and influencers gained first-hand experience of Guizhou’s landscapes, rich culture, and dedication to sustainable tourism.
