EAEU and UAE set to sign free trade agreement in 2025

International partners show considerable interest in trade cooperation

Negotiations on a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been concluded, with the signing expected to take place in 2025. This was reported by
Eurasia Today, citing Andrey Slepnev, Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

“The agreement with the UAE is finalised, negotiations have been completed, and we are now undergoing internal state procedures. We expect the agreement to be signed this year,” stated Andrey Slepnev.

The minister also highlighted the significant interest of international partners in trade cooperation. “Currently, we are implementing the free trade agreement with Iran, which is an unprecedented agreement for Iran with a high level of trade liberalisation. We hope it will come into force in the coming months once Iran completes its technical procedures,” he added.

According to Slepnev, the agreement with Iran is also considered within the broader context of enhancing the economic potential of the North-South Transport Corridor.
