Vietnam to ramp up investments in digital transformation of healthcare sector

The Ministry of Health accelerates funding for AI, big data, and blockchain

Vietnam’s Ministry of Health has unveiled a comprehensive action plan to drive scientific development, innovation, and digital transformation in healthcare.

The initiative aims to modernise the healthcare sector through cutting-edge technology and enhanced digital infrastructure. This is reported by
Vietnam News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

The ministry has outlined seven key objectives to accelerate digital transformation. A primary focus is on fostering innovative thinking. Additionally, the government plans to develop research institutes and medical universities that integrate scientific research, medical applications, and workforce training.

The ministry will also ramp up investments in AI, big data, blockchain, and other emerging technologies to support diagnostics, treatment, and disease prevention.

Experts believe that the restructuring of public scientific organisations will further streamline healthcare research and application. Key national projects will focus on gene technology, personalised medicine, automation, and other advanced medical solutions.

To accelerate digital transformation, the ministry is promoting public-private partnerships for the development of digital applications and services, including the widespread implementation of electronic health records.
