Iran plans to win more than 15 gold medals this year
Iran ranked third in the world in the number of gold medals won at international Olympiads in the Iranian calendar year that ended on 20 March, according to Reza Hosseini, Head of the Young Researchers Club.
“Last year, by winning 12 gold medals, we managed to win the third place in the world,” Hosseini said. This is reported by
Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.
As an important step in the development of the country’s intellectual potential, Iran hosted the first-ever National Artificial Intelligence Olympiad. This year, the Iranian team will participate in the world championship in this discipline for the first time.
Iranian schoolchildren are already showing impressive results at the world level. Last year, Iran won the first place in the world in the Astronomy Olympiad and the fourth place in the Biology Olympiad.
Currently, Iran’s Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution has approved the participation of Iranian schoolchildren in 14 disciplines of international Olympiads. In the past two years, Iranian geniuses have won more than 33 medals in various international Olympiads, finishing third in five key disciplines: astronomy and astrophysics, chemistry, mathematics, biology and computer science.
