Lula da Silva announces opening of Vietnamese market for Brazilian meat

Brazil and Vietnam reaffirm commitment to strengthen trade and diplomatic ties

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva announced the start of meat exports to the Vietnamese market. He said this during a state visit, according to the Brazilian government
website.

“The Prime Minister of Vietnam (Pham Minh Tinh. – Ed.) announced that he will start buying Brazilian meat. This is exceptional news for both Vietnam and Brazil,” said the President.

It is noted that Vietnam currently imports about 300,000 tonnes of beef per year and Brazil, as the country’s main trading partner in Latin America, is well positioned to take the lead in this segment.

“Opening the Vietnamese market to Brazilian beef will attract investment from Brazilian meat processing plants, making the country an export platform for Southeast Asia,” Lula da Silva emphasised.

The visit also included the signing ceremony of bilateral acts, including the Action Plan for the Realisation of Strategic Partnership for 2025-2030. The document covers the areas of trade and investment, agriculture, science and technology, environmental protection and sustainable development, as well as socio-cultural interaction.
