Ethiopian Prime Minister unveils key urban development project in Addis Ababa

Revitalised corridor marks progress in Ethiopia’s smart city vision, prioritising sustainability and community welfare

Prime Minister of Ethiopia Abiy Ahmed has inaugurated the Kasanchis segment of Addis Ababa’s corridor development project, signalling a major step forward in the city’s urban transformation. The Prime Minister highlighted the dramatic change in Kasanchis, as reported by
ENA, a partner of TV BRICS.

Abiy Ahmed emphasised the government’s dedication to improving living standards, ensuring families transition to better-equipped neighbourhoods. He noted that the swift completion of the Kasanchis project sets a benchmark for future smart city initiatives, aligning with Ethiopia’s ambition for sustainable, eco-friendly, and advanced urban spaces.

He reiterated that such advancements are vital in shaping a brighter future, particularly for the next generation.

Earlier, Ethiopia launched a 4-year national soil revival programme to secure agricultural future. The programme will concentrate its efforts in three particularly vulnerable regions: Amhara, Oromia, and Central Ethiopia.
