Indonesian official says country should learn from Russia’s experience in nuclear power engineering
He expressed hope for cooperation between Indonesia and Russia in nuclear power plant construction
Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Eddy Soeparno, said it is necessary to learn from Russia’s experience in building nuclear power plants (NPPs). He said Russia has shown a breakthrough in renewable energy through the development of nuclear power, which can serve as an example for Indonesia. This is reported by
Antara News Agency.
Soeparno made the statement during a meeting with First Deputy Speaker of Russia’s Federation Council Andrey Yatskin.
In this regard, Soeparno expressed hope for cooperation between Indonesia and Russia in the field of NPP construction, particularly the exchange of technology and innovation between experts from the two countries.
This, in his opinion, will improve the qualifications of Indonesian specialists in the field of renewable energy and train them to work with the latest technologies.
The meeting also discussed increasing bilateral trade, which the two sides believe will benefit both countries and deepen bilateral cooperation. Soeparno said Indonesia would support Russia’s initiatives to expand exports to emerging economies as part of President Prabowo Subianto’s BRICS diplomatic strategy.
