Iran’s Yazd and China’s Turpan sign cooperation agreement



The cooperation between Yazd and Turpan will be an important step in strengthening bilateral ties

Yazd and China’s Turpan city have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening ties in various fields. The signing of the memorandum took place in the presence of Cheng Wang, head of Turpan Trade Council and representatives of Yazd administration. This is reported by
IRNA, a partner of TV BRICS.

The agreement covers a wide range of fields including tourism, trade, renewable energy, agriculture, water and waste management, as well as the development of new technologies and cultivation of medicinal plants.

Mayor of Yazd emphasised that city, chosen as the capital of sustainable cities of the world in 2019, has a wealth of experience in energy efficiency and environmental conservation. He noted that ties between Iranian and Chinese civilisations go back 2,000 years and cooperation between Yazd and Turpan will be an important step in strengthening these ties.

Cheng Wang, head of the Turpan trade delegation, emphasised that Turpan, like Yazd, is located on the historic Silk Road and has a rich cultural heritage. He expressed confidence that co-operation between the two cities would be mutually beneficial and allow them to exchange experiences in various fields.
