China launches Silk Road pop-up book to promote cultural exchange and innovation
The book is paired with an AI-powered narration device, enhancing its immersive experience
The International Department of the Communist Party of China has introduced a Silk Road pop-up book, a project that intends to merge history with modern technology to promote global innovation and cultural exchange.
The launch event occurred in Dunhuang, during the Parallel Forum on Civilisational Reconstruction and Renewal in the Age of Artificial Intelligence. The book is paired with an AI-powered narration device, enhancing its immersive experience. This was reported by the
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), a partner of TV BRICS.
The book, available in six languages – Chinese, English, French, Russian, Arabic, and Spanish – highlights 15 key post stations along the ancient Silk Road. Chinese officials emphasised that it was designed to foster mutual understanding and encourage participation in the Belt and Road Initiative.
The eight-meter-long 3D pop-up book aims to bring to life the sounds and sights of the ancient Silk Road, including camel bells, monks, and artists. It took nine years to create, with culturally distinct narratives that go beyond translations.
