Ambassadors of Russia and Mexico support participants of “KARDO” Award

Winners of the national stage will travel to the grand final

The national stage of the international street culture and sports development competition “KARDO”, organised by the presidential platform “Russia – Land of Opportunity”, was held in the city of Chihuahua, Mexico. The TV BRICS International Media Network acted as the international information partner of the event.

Ambassador of Mexico to Russia Eduardo Villegas and Ambassador of Russia to Mexico Nikolay Sofinsky addressed the participants.

Eduardo Villegas expressed his support for the young athletes and cultural figures, noting the high level of their preparation.

“Today, I have the honour of addressing the talented young people taking part in the final stage of the competition and who will represent our country in Russia. I was incredibly proud of our participants,” he said.

The competition lasted two days and brought together representatives from ten regions across the country, including Tijuana, Sinaloa, Monterrey, Coahuila, San Luis Potosí, Michoacan and others. The participants showcased their talents in hip-hop, breaking, and graffiti.

As a result of the competition, the winners who will travel to the final in Stavropol were determined. In the Graffiti category, the winner was Jesus Roberto Armendariz Garcia from Monclova (Coahuila). In the Breaking category, the top prize went to Cesar Gerardo Martinez Lopez from Ciudad Juarez (Chihuahua). In hip-hop, Humberto Gutierrez, also from Ciudad Juarez, was recognised as the strongest performer.

Nikolay Sofinsky highlighted the importance of the project for the development of international cooperation.

“We are proud that Mexico is actively participating in such a major project, whose aim is to discover and support the brightest talents from around the world in the field of street culture and sports. KARDO is more than just a competition – it is a platform for development, cultural cooperation, and shaping the future,” he said.

The grand final of the “KARDO” competition will take place in August in Stavropol, Russia. Participants will compete for a chance to become part of a global cultural movement, receive producer support, build their careers, and reach the international stage.
