China National Opera Orchestra makes historic debut in Sao Paulo
The Symphony Orchestra of the China National Opera made its debut performance at the Theatro Municipal in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Recognised as one of the most prestigious orchestras in the world, its appearance marked a significant cultural moment for the city and for international musical exchange. This is reported by

The concert was part of the 2025 China Cultural Season in Brazil and celebrated the artistic collaboration between Brazil and China. This initiative aims to foster greater cultural understanding and appreciation between the two nations through high-quality artistic performances.
Conducted by guest maestro Tiago Tavares, the performance featured 20 musicians and four operatic singers. The repertoire blended Western classical music with traditional Chinese music. Highlights included the renowned violin concerto “The Butterfly Lovers” and the song “I Love You, China”.
