Corruption case against Pule Mabe, co-accused back in court

The fraud, theft and money laundering case against former African National Congress (ANC) national spokesperson, Pule Mabe, and his six co-accused is due back in the Johannesburg Commercial Crimes court sitting at Palm Ridge in Ekurhuleni.

The accused appeared in court last month and the case was postponed to today to allow for the finalisation of the charge sheet.

They face charges of fraud, money laundering, theft and contraventions of the Public Finance Management Act.

The National Prosecuting says these charges relate to a R27-million tender allegedly unlawfully awarded to Mabe’s company Groen Mintirho (formerly Enviro Mobi) in 2017, to supply 200 three-wheeled waste collection vehicles known as tuk-tuks.
