Beijing confirms readiness to cooperate with Moscow and Delhi in Russia-India-China format
Interest in this mechanism had earlier been expressed by the Russian side
China is prepared to sustain communication with Russia and India to promote trilateral cooperation. This was stated by Lin Jian, official spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, during a briefing, as reported by
CCTV+, a partner of TV BRICS.
He made the comment in response to remarks by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko regarding Moscow’s interest in reviving the mechanism.
“China-Russia-India cooperation not only serves the respective interests of the three countries but also helps uphold peace, security, stability, and progress in the region and in the world. China stands ready to maintain communication with Russia and India on advancing the trilateral cooperation,” said Lin.
Earlier, Rudenko stated that Moscow was in talks with New Delhi and Beijing about resuming work in the Russia-India-China format. He stressed that the Russian side is interested in restoring this mechanism, as the three states are important partners and founding members of BRICS.
