Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar arrived in Moscow for a visit, where he met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Following the talks, the parties held a joint press conference.
The Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit India before the end of the year.

He added that a substantial package of documents is planned to be prepared for the summit.
The Russian Minister also said that Moscow and New Delhi are interested in implementing joint projects on energy production in the Russian Far East and the Arctic shelf. He noted the good results of cooperation in the field of hydrocarbons and oil supplies to the Indian market.
In turn, Jaishankar recalled that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Putin met in Moscow in July last year and in Kazan in October at the BRICS summit.

He also invited Lavrov to visit the republic to continue the dialogue, thanking Russia for the open and productive exchange of views.
The day before, Jaishankar and First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov held the 26th meeting of the Russian-Indian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation, according to the official
website of the Russian Government. Manturov stated that over the past five years, trade between the countries has grown almost sevenfold. He also drew attention to the sevenfold increase in tourist traffic from India in the first half of 2025.
