Kazakhstan deploys AI drones to monitor power grids

Kazakhstan has begun using artificial intelligence (AI)-powered drones to inspect the condition of power transmission lines, the country’s Energy Minister Erlan Akkenzhenov announced.

According to the minister, the drones are capable of quickly diagnosing faults, detecting defects, and preventing potential disruptions in the electricity network. This is reported by
Kazinform, a partner of TV BRICS,

He added that in the heat energy sector, robotic systems based on acoustic resonance are being applied to scan pipelines from the inside, enabling more precise and targeted repairs.

Meanwhile, in the gas sector, an AI assistant is already in operation, automatically recognising meter readings and improving efficiency.
