Vietnam and the United Nations set a target of achieving an average annual economic growth rate of 10 per cent or more during the 2026–2030 period. This is reported by
VNA, a partner of TV BRICS.
The pledge was made during the annual session of the Vietnam–United Nations Joint Steering Committee, which reviewed progress in the 2022–2026 cooperation framework and initiated the roadmap for 2027–2031.
Deputy Minister of Finance Tran Quoc Phuong stated that the Government of Vietnam will continue close coordination with the United Nations to accelerate project approval and implementation, ensuring that all commitments for the current phase are successfully completed and laying a solid foundation for the next stage.
UN representatives emphasised key joint achievements, including advances in sustainable development goals (SDGs), just energy transitions, disaster resilience, gender equality, and innovation.
The 2027–2031 cooperation strategy will be built on wide consultations and national analysis, beginning with a multilateral workshop in September. According to the United Nations, the new framework will align Vietnam’s long-term development vision with global priorities, supporting both the country’s 2045 goals and international commitments to sustainable development.
