Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun announced at a press conference that a trial visa-free regime will be in effect for Russians. This is reported by
China Daily, a partner of TV BRICS.
He emphasised that this measure was taken to simplify movement between China and other countries. If the purpose of the visit is business, tourism, excursions, visiting relatives and friends, or transit, and if the trip lasts no more than 30 days, Russians will not need to obtain a visa.
Guo Jiakun also noted that under the leadership of the leaders of the two countries, relations between China and Russia remain strong. According to him, China attaches great importance to contacts between people and considers them important for strengthening partnerships. He added that China welcomes more frequent visits by Russians.
Earlier, China
introduced a visa-free regime for citizens of 75 countries, including the possibility of transit for up to 240 hours, which is part of the policy to develop international exchanges. Visiting without this document is possible for citizens of almost all European countries, a number of Latin American countries, the Middle East and Asia. Recently, simplified entry was also extended to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Malaysia.
