Venezuela’s men’s national volleyball team was crowned champion of the Pan American Volleyball Cup, held in Leon, Mexico, after defeating the host nation in a closely contested final, according to
Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), a partner of TV BRICS.
The Venezuelan team demonstrated their superiority in the opening sets, winning 25–23 and 25–20, conceding only the third set 25–20. However, they regained control in the fourth with a decisive 25–19 victory, securing the gold medal.
Their path to the final included a semi-final clash against Colombia, in which the Venezuelans triumphed 3–2. Team captain Willner Rivas played a key role throughout the tournament and was named the Most Valuable Player of the competition.
