Iran and China launch joint health and pharma initiative

Iran’s Food and Drug Administration has announced the launch of joint programmes with China in the fields of pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and healthcare supplies. This is reported by
Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

The move forms part of the 25-year comprehensive cooperation agreement signed between the two countries, which includes the transfer of pharmaceutical technology and expertise, joint drug production, medical research and the development of new treatments.

According to Hamid Enanlou, the Administration’s Director of International Affairs, the cooperation will also cover the production and supply of medical devices and laboratory equipment, alongside technology exchange in items such as syringes, diagnostic kits and hygiene products.

The plans involve joint investment, the creation of new partnerships and companies, as well as training and the exchange of skilled professionals.

Enanlou stressed that part of the initiative is designed to strengthen domestic production while opening up regional markets for both Iranian and Chinese firms.
