South Africa will host the G20 Tourism Ministers’ Meeting on 12 September 2025, in Mpumalanga, where officials are expected to endorse an action plan aimed at advancing sustainable tourism growth across member nations. This is reported by the official
website of the South African Presidency in G20.
Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille will chair the gathering. The plan builds on discussions first launched during a virtual meeting in March, where member states identified four key priorities: harnessing artificial intelligence and innovation to boost start-ups and small businesses; improving tourism financing and investment; enhancing air connectivity; and strengthening resilience for inclusive and sustainable tourism development.
Officials said the outcomes of the G20 Tourism Ministers’ Meeting will shape the collective G20 Tourism Action Plan, setting a framework for more inclusive, connected, and resilient tourism worldwide.
