Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Beijing. The leaders of the two countries intend to expand cooperation in the areas of trade, investment and high technology. This is reported by CCTV+, a partner of TV BRICS.
Xi Jinping emphasised the special role of China and Indonesia as the largest countries in the Global South and called on the parties to uphold regional stability and a fair world order. He confirmed Beijing’s readiness to deepen its strategic partnership with Jakarta to build a community with a shared future for mankind.
China is also ready to increase cooperation in mineral extraction, the digital economy, artificial intelligence, agriculture, and fisheries.
For his part, Subianto said that relations with China are a foreign policy priority for Indonesia. According to him, they are at their highest level in history. The Indonesian side is counting on an increase in Chinese investment and stronger cooperation in trade and infrastructure development.
The Indonesian leader’s visit to China and his talks with Xi Jinping took place in the symbolic year of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
