Vietnam attracted almost 14 million international visitors between January and August 2025, a year-on-year increase of 21.7 per cent, according to the National Statistics Office. This is reported by
Vietnam News Agency (VNA), a partner of TV BRICS.
In August alone, arrivals reached 1.68 million, up 7.8 per cent from July. Tourism revenue for the eight months was estimated at US$2.32 billion, up 20.3 per cent.
Air travel continued to dominate with 11.9 million visitors, or 85.2 per cent of the total, up 22.6 per cent year-on-year. Land arrivals reached 1.9 million, while 187,800 visitors arrived by sea. China remained the largest source market with over 3.5 million arrivals (25.4 per cent). Key markets also included Cambodia, India, Russia, Malaysia, and others.
More than 387,000 Indian visitors arrived in the first seven months of 2025, up 42.5 per cent compared to the same period last year, following a record 501,427 arrivals in 2024 – nearly triple the pre-pandemic figure in 2019.
Vietnam’s extended e-visa policy, which allows single or multiple entries for up to 90 days, together with more direct flights and a safe travel environment, is expected to further boost inbound arrivals, particularly from India.
