ASEAN member states are joining international media communications through TV BRICS. The Kingdom of Thailand has joined the media network to exchange information with BRICS+ countries. The first partner in this country is Thai PBS (Thai Public Broadcasting Service). The cooperation agreement was signed by CEO of TV BRICS Janna Tolstikova and Thai PBS Director General Vanchai Tantivitayapitak.
The agreements reached will allow Thailand to receive up-to-date information on the activities of the BRICS+ countries from primary media sources and promote its own agenda in the international information field. The partners’ cooperation provides for the exchange of content and joint production of media materials.
“Thai PBS is pleased to begin this new chapter of cooperation with TV BRICS. This partnership opens meaningful opportunities to share diverse perspectives and stories with wider international audiences. We believe that by working together, Thai PBS and TV BRICS can foster greater cultural understanding, promote dialogue among peoples, and contribute to a more connected global community,” said Thai PBS Director General Vanchai Tantivitayapitak.
Thai PBS is Thailand’s public television broadcaster. Founded in 2008 as the country’s first non-profit public media organisation, it provides radio and television broadcasting services. Thai PBS operates in Thai and English. It specialises in news and analysis. It covers topics such as politics, economics, security, ecology, social life, culture, and international cooperation, including through ASEAN. Thai PBS is an active member of many international professional media associations, including the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD), and the Public Media Alliance (PMA).
CEO of TV BRICS Janna Tolstikova said that Thailand has become the 30th country to officially join the international content exchange through the media network and the third representative of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) after Vietnam and Malaysia. Overall, media presence of TV BRICS now reaches more than 80 countries.
“We are delighted that TV BRICS’ cooperation with Thailand, a BRICS partner country, is beginning with such a reputable media outlet as Thai PBS. Our joint work will focus primarily on strengthening cooperation between BRICS+ and ASEAN countries in the field of media communications and shaping a broad international agenda. We are confident that the materials provided by Thai PBS and adapted by TV BRICS for distribution in different countries around the world will give new impetus to the development of this amazing country and demonstrate its unique cultural features, economic, and tourism potential,” said Janna Tolstikova.
In addition to Thailand, the international media network also cooperates with Belarus, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Vietnam, and Cuba among the BRICS partner countries.
