China has pledged to deepen industrial cooperation with BRICS members in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, electric vehicles and renewable energy, the country’s top industry regulator announced at the BRICS Forum on Partnership on the New Industrial Revolution 2025. Li Lecheng, Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology, said the grouping of emerging economies should pool their strengths in markets, resources and industrial capacity to stay ahead amid fierce global competition and rapid technological change.

Li stressed that China will encourage enterprises in new energy vehicles, photovoltaics, wind and hydrogen to join forces with BRICS partners to develop “accessible, affordable and effective” technologies that support renewable energy systems across member states.
Russia’s Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Aleksey Gruzdev, praised the forum’s evolution: “Today, the forum is much more than just an industrial dialogue mechanism among the BRICS countries. Instead, it is a community of leading global experts and professionals, which contributes to technological leadership of the BRICS countries and shapes global industrial development.” He also highlighted biotechnology as a promising new area of collaboration.
Indonesia’s Vice-Minister of Industry Faisol Riza in his turn underlined the urgency of accelerating green and digital transformation.
