A China-ASEAN Centre for Artificial Intelligence (AI) Cooperation was officially launched during the China-ASEAN Ministerial Roundtable on AI 2025 in Nanning, China.
According to
BERNAMA, a partner of TV BRICS, the centre is expected to serve as a platform for deepening regional collaboration in the field, enabling ASEAN member states to share in the benefits of AI development.
China’s National Development and Reform Commission stated that the centre marks a key milestone in China-ASEAN cooperation on emerging technologies. It is designed to facilitate the exchange of expertise, promote joint projects, and foster greater integration of AI into economic and social development across the region.
Officials highlighted that the initiative will strengthen coordination between supply and demand in the AI sector, expand resource sharing, and enhance capacity building.
