Efforts to strengthen integration between China and ASEAN countries have received a boost through a strategic air cargo partnership between Kuala Lumpur and Zhengzhou international airports, reports
Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
The collaboration aims to expand cargo connectivity across Asia, positioning both hubs as leading regional centres and supporting economic growth under the Belt and Road Initiative’s “Silk Air Route.”
Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke highlighted that linking Zhengzhou, one of China Central’s fastest-growing logistics centres, with Kuala Lumpur, a gateway to the ASEAN region, will open opportunities in high-value sectors including e-commerce, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and fresh produce.
Loke highlighted that Investments in infrastructure, digital logistics, and streamlined customs processes are expected to enable faster access to key markets and reinforce Kuala Lumpur’s role as a Southeast Asian cargo hub.
