
China has announced a joint action plan with Africa to build what it calls a “shared future in cyberspace”, aiming to boost cooperation on digital infrastructure, cybersecurity and the governance of artificial intelligence.
According to
Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS, the 2025-2026 initiative was announced at the opening of the China–Africa Internet Development and Cooperation Forum opened in Xiamen, Fujian province.
The plan also includes a network for Chinese internet companies working in Africa and the continuation of training programmes in areas such as the digital economy and data protection.
African representatives said the initiative responds directly to local needs, highlighting opportunities for collaboration on cybersecurity, AI regulation and digital skills development.
