Iran hosts first international Nanotechnology Olympiad for school students

The first International Nanotechnology Olympiad for school students is currently being held virtually from Iran, with participants from 20 countries across five continents. This is reported by
Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

Afshin Ramzi, director of the permanent secretariat of the International Nanotechnology Olympiad, noted that Iran’s experience in hosting 16 national nano Olympiads inspired the idea of expanding the competition internationally. While the initial international events targeted university students, this is the first edition specifically for school pupils.

The Olympiad secretariat, based in Iran at the Special Headquarters for Nanotechnology Development, organised the event with support from the Young Students’ Club.

The virtual competition required students to submit a video within 72 hours presenting an economic model to address an environmental challenge. Final results will be announced next week.
