Iran women’s volleyball team wins first-ever Central Asian Championship

Iran’s national women’s volleyball team has claimed the Central Asian Championship title for the first time in its history, after a commanding 3–0 win over Uzbekistan in the final held in Tashkent, the Uzbek capital, on Sunday.

The victory marked a historic milestone, ending a 62-year wait for gold since women’s volleyball was established in Iran, reports
Alalam News Network, a partner of TV BRICS.

The Iranian team dominated the final with set scores of 25–14, 25–14, and 25–19, repeating their earlier win over Uzbekistan in the group stage and finishing the tournament with four straight victories, without losing a single set.

Throughout the tournament, the Iranian women’s team defeated Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan in the preliminary round, advancing to the final with a perfect record.
