A direct air link between New Delhi and Guangzhou will be restored in November, marking a significant step towards strengthening people-to-people and economic exchanges between China and India. This is reported by

The daily service is set to begin on 10 November, while flights connecting Kolkata and Guangzhou will resume in late October. The regular routes are expected to boost travel, trade, tourism and academic collaboration between the two nations.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the decision reflects “a positive and steady normalisation in India–China relations.” The move comes amid growing efforts by both governments to enhance mobility and cooperation across key sectors.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun noted that the resumption of flights “will facilitate friendly exchanges between over 2.8 billion Chinese and Indian people,” adding that Beijing welcomes greater interaction and connectivity with New Delhi.
Before the pandemic, India and China operated over 2,500 direct flights annually, connecting major cities such as New Delhi, Shanghai and Guangzhou. The re-establishment of these routes is expected to ease travel for students, researchers, and traders who have long relied on indirect connections.
