International forum in Samara to define strategies for development of sports industry

From 5 to 7 November, Samara will host the
13th International Sports Forum “Russia: Country of Sports”. It will serve as a platform for discussing strategies for the industry’s development, strengthening international cooperation, and engaging young people in physical culture. The main theme of the event is “Phygital Sports: The Future That Has Arrived Today.”

Special attention will be devoted to the development of youth and children’s sports and the digitalisation of infrastructure, as well as new areas such as phygital and adaptive sports.

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that over the years, the Forum has become a key event uniting professionals from the sports sector.

“Today, the phygital movement is actively developing in our country, opportunities for adaptive sports are expanding, new facilities are being built under a comprehensive state programme, and more than 38,000 school sports clubs are in operation,” he emphasised.

In 2025, the business agenda of the forum will focus on four key areas: “O Sport, You Are Peace! International Cooperation,” “Ecosystem,” “Creating a New Image of Sport,” and “Sport and Society.” Participants will discuss the development of sports infrastructure and technologies, the role of the media and the formation of a new image of sport, as well as the support of school and student leagues.

Minister of Sport of Russia Mikhail Degtyarev stated that the forum in Samara will be one of the largest and most substantive in its history.

“The most important thing is the quality of discussion and the readiness for joint action. The plenary session ‘Phygital Sports: The Future That Has Arrived Today’ will be the central point where we will discuss the strategy of international cooperation and the development of infrastructure for children and youth, as well as practical steps to strengthen Russia’s sports system,” said Degtyarev.

Particular attention will be paid to work in the international sphere. The Forum venue will host the first meeting of the Ministers of Sport of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue countries, as well as a joint meeting of the athletes’ commissions of the National Olympic Committees of Russia and Belarus.

“I am confident that the 13th International Sports Forum ‘Russia: Country of Sports’ will contribute to the further advancement of systemic work aimed at achieving national goals and strengthening Russia’s sports sovereignty,” noted Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Organising Committee for the preparation and holding of Forum.
