A few days before the G20 Summit to be held in South Africa, Argentine analysts and journalists, in an exclusive interview for TV BRICS, emphasise the importance of the forum as a space for global dialogue and for boosting cooperation among the world’s major economies.
Journalist Nazarena Lomagno, economic columnist for the newspaper Ámbito, Radio 10 and the channel C5N, stated that the summit generates high expectations due to its capacity to bring together the planet’s leading economies, both developed and emerging, and to promote joint action on priority issues.
“The G20 is a forum with real capacity to influence and discuss the issues that afflict us today,” she explained.
According to Lomagno, international cooperation must be reflected in three fundamental areas: macroeconomic and financial coordination, the energy and technological transition, and the strengthening of the multilateral system.
“The importance of the G20 lies in its ability to demonstrate the value of dialogue and joint action in order to cooperate internationally on the global challenges that define 2025,” she added.
For his part, geopolitical analyst Diego Pappalardo, an expert in foresight and strategic adviser, agreed that the summit raises broad expectations and represents an opportunity to strengthen the multipolar system.
The experts highlighted the role of the G20 in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals set out in the United Nations agenda, such as climate finance, sustainable infrastructure and the fight against poverty. In addition, Pappalardo stressed that South Africa will seek for the final document to fully reflect these goals promoted by the UN.
The G20 Summit, which will be held from 22 to 23 November 2025 in South Africa under the theme “Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability”, seeks to place social justice, inclusive growth and multilateral equity at the centre of global governance.
