Mogotsi expected to be cross-examined on Matlala, Mchunu messages

The testimony of controversial North-West businessman Brown Mogotsi will be tested at the Madlanga Commission at 2pm on Wednesday afternoon.

Mogotsi, who has been placed at the centre of allegations before the Madlanga Commission, made startling claims during his testimony on Tuesday.

This included allegations that KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi is a CIA agent, and that Police Minister Senzo Mchunu allegedly contacted him about police operations in Stilfontein.

Text messages between Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala and Mogotsi, as well as messages between Mogotsi and Mchunu, are expected to be the subject of the cross-examination.

Mogotsi has denied sending a message to Matlala about the disbandment of the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT).

He claims that the messages could’ve been fabricated.

He also claims that messages between him and Mchunu were in relation to mining operations in Stilfontein.

The late start on Wednesday will allow Mogotsi and his legal counsel to go through documents in the Commission exhibit bundle, which they have not been able to work through.
