Indonesia and Iran agree to cooperate in field of higher education

Iran and Indonesia will expand cooperation in the fields of higher education and exchange programmes for professors and students, as well as joint scientific research. Work is under way to establish permanent mechanisms of cooperation. This was reported by
IRNA, a partner of TV BRICS.

Representatives of the Centre for International Scientific Cooperation of Iran’s Ministry of Science and the Embassy of Indonesia in Tehran agreed to expand academic and scientific ties between the two countries. At the meeting, the parties discussed work on new memoranda, the organisation of research projects, and the holding of meetings involving experts and academic delegations.

One of the topics of the negotiations was the creation of a joint industrial and technological fund to support collaborative projects between universities and technology companies of the two countries. This initiative will contribute to the commercialisation of scientific achievements and the development of cooperation in the industrial sector.

Equally significant for Iran and Indonesia is the development of cultural exchange, especially in the promotion of the Persian language and literature, as well as the establishment of Persian language education centres at universities in Indonesia.

In addition, both countries plan to devote greater attention to the participation of universities in international scientific diplomacy. To this end, meetings of scholars will be organised and professional training programmes created.
