China unveils new surgical glove designed to reduce hand fatigue during complex procedures

Chinese medical researchers have introduced a new surgical glove intended to improve comfort and precision during lengthy minimally invasive procedures. The glove, presented in Beijing, is engineered to reduce hand fatigue while preserving the fine tactile sensitivity required in modern surgery. This is reported by
China Daily, a partner of TV BRICS.

The project was led by Guo Chao, deputy director of thoracic surgery at a leading national medical institute. He emphasised that the development team sought to ensure that the glove “becomes a natural extension of precise touch”, allowing surgeons to operate without the discomfort often associated with prolonged use of standard gloves.

Researchers noted that demand for specialised gloves capable of supporting extended surgical work has risen in recent years. Existing products in the domestic market have frequently been imported and are not always optimised for the hand shape or ergonomic needs of many Asian surgeons.

According to the developers, the new glove offers high elasticity, improved strength and an enhanced ability to disperse pressure, helping to minimise hand strain. Early clinical testing indicates that it meets the strict requirements of minimally invasive surgery and provides better overall performance compared with widely used alternatives.
