
The women’s volleyball club won the bronze medal at the Women’s Volleyball Club World Championship, which ended in Sao Paulo. The team secured a victory over their Brazilian rivals with a score of 3-0 (25/20, 28/26, 25/19) in the match for third place. This is reported by

This victory marks the third bronze medal for the team, repeating their achievements in 1994 and 2011. The Sao Paulo team is also the 2012 champion and two-time silver medallist (2010 and 2014), reports the source. The team from Uberlandia (Minas Gerais state), on the other hand, finished the tournament in fourth place for the third time in a row.
According to the source, during the match, the Sao Paulo team dominated the first set. Thereafter, it took control of the game from the start, securing the victory with an attack by forward Maiara Basso.
The top scorer of the match was the team’s Argentine opposite hitter Bianca Cugno with 21 points. Its head coach Luizomar de Moura celebrated the victory with the fans.
It is noted that Brazil will also host the Men’s Club World Championship, which will take place in Belem. This is the fourth time in the last five years that the country has hosted the competition. In 2021 and 2022, the tournament was held in Betim (MG), and last season it was hosted by Uberlandia.
