One or two domestic radiopharmaceuticals created in Iran are capable of treating up to 30 types of oncological diseases. This was stated by the Head of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami, as reported by Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
He noted that the role of his organisation in developing therapeutic products will help treat patients more effectively by uniting different groups of medical professionals working in the field of cancer treatment. Eslami emphasised that the recently produced Iranian radiopharmaceuticals are among the best in the world, and the population of the country now has access to them.
The Head of the AEOI also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Health for its cooperation in this area.
Earlier, Iran proposed to the BRICS countries the creation of a joint network of scientific laboratories based on its national model for the shared use of expensive equipment. Similar initiatives were discussed within the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and with individual countries, including China and the Gulf States.
