Egypt’s agricultural exports have reached about 8.8 million tonnes this year, up by nearly 750,000 tonnes compared to the same period last year, according to Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk. This is reported by

According to the report, citrus fruits remained Egypt’s top export, with shipments exceeding 2 million tonnes. Fresh potatoes ranked second at around 1.3 million tonnes, followed by sweet potatoes with about 328,000 tonnes. Beans, both fresh and dried, reached approximately 312,000 tonnes, while fresh onions accounted for around 282,000 tonnes.
Strong export volumes were also recorded for grapes, pomegranates, and mangoes, alongside a wide range of other products such as tomatoes, strawberries, garlic, and guava. Experts noted this reflects the growing diversity of Egypt’s agricultural exports.
The minister emphasised the increase in export volumes confirms the stability and competitiveness of Egypt’s agricultural sector. He stressed that Egyptian products continue to meet international quality and food safety standards, strengthening trust in global markets.
Alaa Farouk highlighted that agricultural exports remain a key source of foreign currency and economic growth. He also mentioned the role of quality control systems, quarantine services, and specialised laboratories, as well as ongoing efforts to expand access to new markets and support sustainable growth across the sector.
