A ceremonial reception for representatives of Russian media outlets was held at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Moscow. Opening the event, Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui emphasised the nature of bilateral relations.
“China–Russia relations are at an unprecedentedly high level. They reflect support and cooperation shoulder to shoulder, represent an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era, serve as a model of a new type of international relations, and embody the shared expectations of the peoples of our two countries. […] Achievements in the development of China–Russia relations would not have been possible without the joint efforts of the relevant information authorities of both countries, as well as without the active support of the friends from media communities present here,” the diplomat stated.
Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, in her remarks, noted that the Russia–China partnership will play an important stabilising role on the international stage. She also recalled that this year marks two significant anniversaries: 30 years of the strategic partnership between the two countries and 25 years since the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighbourliness and Friendly Cooperation.
