Following talks in Minsk, Belarusian President Aleksander Lukashenko and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a declaration establishing a strategic partnership between the two countries. The heads of state discussed in detail the current state and prospects for the development of the full range of Belarusian-Uzbek partnership, according to the Belarusian President’s
website.
The declaration provides for deeper cooperation in industry, agriculture, transport logistics and other areas of interregional cooperation. Aleksander Lukashenko described the adoption of the document as a historic step.

He noted that by the end of 2025, Minsk and Tashkent had reached the highest level of bilateral trade in the history of their relations, coming very close to US$1 billion, and that growth rates had increased in January–May of this year. According to Lukashenko, Belarus and Uzbekistan could increase their mutual trade turnover to US$2 billion by 2030, partly by strengthening cooperation in the fields of engineering, agriculture, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and a number of other sectors.
The President of Belarus also expressed his readiness for active cooperation across a very wide range of areas, including the energy sector and the development of joint ventures.
“There are successful examples of establishing joint production facilities. These include projects to localise the production of Belarusian tractors in Uzbekistan and to expand the manufacture of cable products. […] We are ready to provide the Uzbek side with every possible assistance in developing the agricultural sector through joint projects. […] We have highly cost-effective solutions and experience in the automation and digitalisation of the energy sector. In view of the construction of a nuclear power station in Uzbekistan, we are ready to share Belarus’s experience in this field, including the provision of personnel, which has already taken place,” said Aleksander Lukashenko.
Following the talks between the heads of state, a package of documents was signed. These included a roadmap for the development of trade, economic, social and humanitarian cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan for the period 2026–2030. It sets out specific steps for achieving the stated objectives. The documents were exchanged by the Deputy Prime Ministers of Belarus and Uzbekistan, Yuri Shuleiko and Jamshid Khodjaev, according to

Shavkat Mirziyoyev thanked Aleksander Lukashenko for his support in implementing joint projects and programmes. The President of Uzbekistan also noted that the current level of cooperation represents a historic moment which should be utilised to mutual benefit, reports

On the eve of the signing of the declaration, in a conversation with the Belarusian leader, he spoke highly of the development of business contacts and inter-regional ties between Belarus and Uzbekistan. This was evidenced by the Third Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan, which preceded the talks between the heads of state and covered a number of regions in Belarus, visited by delegations from Uzbekistan’s regions.
“It is the first time I’ve brought such a delegation with me: 230 companies, entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan are in Minsk today. The forum at the highest level. A great deal of promising projects,” Mirziyoyev emphasised, according to the Belarusian President’s
website.
The President of Uzbekistan arrived in Belarus on a two-day official visit, from 8 to 9 July.
