China to launch robot, car and pharmaceutical plants in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan plans to launch a number of new production facilities with the participation of Chinese companies. The new projects were presented at the Kazakhstan–China Investment Forum in Almaty. They were reported by Kazinform, a TV BRICS partner.

One of the joint ventures will be a plant producing humanoid and educational robots in Almaty. Its launch is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. For the Chinese manufacturer, the plant will be its first production facility outside China.

In the automotive sector, further localisation of Chinese brand production in Kazakhstan is planned. The republic is also preparing to launch domestic production of anti-cancer medicines in partnership with two Chinese companies.

China and Kazakhstan expressed interest in developing a joint coal chemical project and logistics infrastructure.

More than 600 delegates took part in the Kazakhstan–China Investment Forum, including representatives of over 200 Chinese companies. Following the event, around 50 commercial documents worth more than US$8.2 billion were exchanged.
