Thailand proposes special exhibitions to mark 130 years of diplomatic relations with Russia

Thailand is interested in organising special exhibitions with Russia to mark the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2027, Thai Minister of Culture Sabeeda Thaised said in an exclusive comment for TV BRICS.

The minister said she had discussed the possibility of exchanging special exhibitions during a meeting with Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova.

“On the occasion of the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Russia, I think it would be a good idea to organise a special exhibition. I had an opportunity to meet with Olga Lyubimova, the Minister of Culture of Russia, and we talked about exchanging special exhibitions,” Thaised said.

She suggested that future projects in Russia could introduce audiences to Thai national costumes and other elements of the country’s cultural heritage.

“We can do more, such as organising special exhibitions in Russia featuring Thai national costumes and other elements of Thai culture. This would allow people to learn more about our traditions and our amazing cultural heritage,” the minister noted.

Thaised also highlighted opportunities to expand cooperation through programmes involving young people, artists, teachers and cultural institutions.

According to the minister, such initiatives can go beyond introducing audiences to individual traditions and contribute to stronger ties between the two countries.
