The Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India will use a solution to translate documents using artificial intelligence (AI). This was reported by IANS, a partner of TV BRICS.
The launch of the solution enables the integration of language AI into the workflows of government agencies. It is expected to ensure consistency in terminology and meet the specialised requirements of the country’s supreme audit institution, thereby making official information more accessible.
India’s Comptroller and Auditor General, K. Sanjay Murthy, noted that it is important to take the country’s linguistic diversity into account so that audit findings are available to citizens in languages they understand.
Currently, the AI solution supports 36 Indian languages in text format, 23 Indian languages for voice services and 35 international languages. The platform is already being used for a range of public services, including agricultural advisory services, and the registration and processing of citizens’ enquiries using voice technology.
