Russia is to establish 13 new centres for the development of industrial robotics. Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and Innopolis University, a partner of TV BRICS, have selected them following a competitive selection process, according to the ministry’s website.
Forty-eight organisations, technical universities and associations from seven federal districts and 24 cities across the country took part in the competition to establish the centres. In their applications, they presented programmes of activities for the future satellite centres, including action plans, financial strategies, descriptions of the robotic solutions being developed, details of their human resources and resource base, as well as a list of strategic partners to be involved.
Each of the 13 winners of the competition will receive a grant. The new industrial robotics development centre will be able to spend this money over a three-year period on the development and commercial roll-out of technological solutions, the implementation of robotic cells and systems at enterprises, and staff training.
Consequently, the federal network will expand to include 21 industrial robotics development centres.
