With the upcoming Local Government Elections (LGE) on 4 November 2026, University of Western Cape (UWC) student Aisha Mbaye spoke to students, focusing on whether they will vote and why.
Two students share their views:
“I feel that voting is important for young people, we want to see changes happening and the only way that can happen is by making my mark on the ballot paper.”
“I want to be able to choose the person who runs the country and to hold them accountable if they do something wrong.”
