Kazakhstan plans to put its third high-performance supercomputer into operation by the end of 2026. The announcement was made by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during his annual Address to the Nation, according to Kazinform, a partner of TV BRICS.
The country is continuing to develop its digital infrastructure as part of the comprehensive Digital Qazaqstan strategy. Two supercomputers are already operational, while construction of data centres is under way.
“Two supercomputers have been commissioned, and a third high-performance supercomputer will be brought into service by the end of the year. The laying of a fibre-optic backbone across the seabed of the Caspian Sea has been completed, and data centres are under construction,” noted Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
President Tokayev highlighted that the country’s digital transformation should focus on practical outcomes and the effective application of technological solutions.
According to the head of state, the development of computing infrastructure, data centres and telecommunications networks represents an important step towards a new technological framework and the implementation of Kazakhstan’s digital development priorities.
