The African Energy Week (AEW): Invest in African Energies 2025 runs from 30 September to 3 October. This is reported by the
official website. TV BRICS serves as the international information partner of the African Energy Week.
On the eve of the conference, specialised forums on investment, energy security and cross-border cooperation will be held. The sessions, in turn, will focus at exploring ways to raise capital, expand processing capacities, and integrate natural gas into regional energy strategies.
According to OPEC’s World Oil Outlook 2025, Africa’s oil consumption is projected to grow from 1.8 million barrels per day in 2024 to 4.5 million barrels per day by 2050, driven by rapid urbanisation and industrialisation.
Experts believe that cumulative investment in African oil and gas projects could reach US$1.4 trillion by mid-century. In turn, the continent is on track to triple domestic crude consumption by 2050, with expansions in refining capacity and strengthened cross-border synergies boosting continental trade.
“Rising demand and anticipated production growth in Africa’s oil and gas sector are expected to unlock a wealth of opportunities for countries continent-wide. […] AEW: Invest in African Energies 2025 offers a strategic platform to discuss Africa’s emerging hydrocarbon suppliers,” stated Tomas Gerbasio, Vice President of Commercial and Strategic Engagement at the African Energy Chamber.
The main highlight of the week will be the OPEC–Africa Roundtable, which will examine Africa’s role in global markets and its contribution to balanced energy transitions.
