Anil Kumar Rai, who is currently serving as the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs, has been appointed as India’s next Ambassador to Ethiopia, according to a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs.

The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Republic of India have maintained bilateral relations for nearly two millennia. Modern diplomatic relations at the embassy level between India and Ethiopia have been established since July 1948, after India’s independence.
