Russia and ASEAN countries have agreed to further develop trade and investment cooperation. The parties announced this following a meeting of economic ministers in Pasay, the Philippines, according to Prensa Latina, a TV BRICS partner.
The 2026–2035 cooperation programme covers digital technologies, artificial intelligence, science, transport, agriculture, energy, mineral extraction, climate, tourism and creative industries.
The sides highlighted joint projects in the development of smart cities and animation production. They also discussed Russia’s cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Commission for 2026–2030.
Russia and ASEAN also plan to develop joint projects related to education and environmental protection. Business ties will be strengthened through Russia–ASEAN business councils.
Trade between Russia and ASEAN countries reached US$17.8 billion last year, according to the report.
